Choosing the right photographer for any criteria is never a walk in the park and it involves a lot of careful negotiations and decisions to be made in order to find the perfect person for the job.
To save you the time and hassle I have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions to help you get the vital answers to your queries to save you time and stress in your decision making process.

How do we secure Sharyn Hodges as our Family Photographer?
A 50% deposit is required to secure your wedding date.

Is our deposit refundable?
Unfortunately your deposit is non-refundable, please make 100% sure you want me to photograph your family.

Can we request a specific list of photos from your website or another for inspiration?
Of course you can, however, I can’t guarantee that they will be exactly the same. Photography has so many factors to take into consideration to get that specific photo, but we can use it as a starting point to make sure that we all are on the same page. Remember you are booking me for my unique style, so there will always be my artist interpretation of the shot.

What methods of payment do you accept?
I accept Eff’s, if you wish to pay via PayPal, please add another 5% to the total.

How long does it take to get my photographs?
Depending on the time of the year. During December & January please expect a four week turn around other months you can expect them within seven to ten days.

How do we receive the photographs?
Your photographs will be either sent to you via PostNet or Aramax Courier on a 8 gig wooden USB drive. If you wish to receive the photographs via WeTransfer that too can be arranged.

What happens if it is raining?
Unfortunately as much as Sharyn Hodges tries to have an impact on the world, she cannot foresee the future or control Mother Nature.

If in the unfortunate events of rain or poor weather conditions, we will try and reschedule that fits both our schedules, if we can’t find a date and time, you will receive your deposit back in full.

Please note: I ultimately have the FINAL say if we continue in weather conditions that might cause damage to my equipment.

Natural vs Posed
Please for the sake of my sanity if you have children, I will ask you NOT to stand behind me and make funny baby noises, clapping of the hands and goodness knows what else happens behind me. Just don’t. The child will be looking at you and at me. Let them be.

What format and size does the photographs come?
I photograph in RAW, and export in JPEG, you will get high resolution images.

Travel Costs
For shoots in Plettenberg Bay there is no additional fuel costs.
After that however, clients are responsible for the cost of travel and will be billed at the current AA rate of R3,50 per km.

Do you make back up copies of the photographs?
I am so so paranoid when it comes to this. My first back up comes while I am photographing. My camera has two slots cards, in case the one gets corrupted. When I travel back home, I split the cards one goes into the cabby and the other I stick in my clothing, when I get back to my computer I immediately upload the photographs onto a hard drive. And when I get back home, that gets backed up too.

How do you edit your photographs?
I DO NOT PHOTOSHOP! Please don’t ask me to add a shark jumping out of the water, add a tsunami, give you a tummy tuck or remove double chins. Sorry I won’t.

Can we get the RAW images?
Sorry, no. I believe that the selection I make is that of the best images from the day and each photograph is edited individually. If you would like more photographs of your day, there can be additional editing fees.
